Rohit Sharma won the Men’s International Cricketer of the Year award at the CEAT Cricket Awards on 21 August. Virat Kohli won the ODI Batter of the Year award.

India’s superstar cricketers like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Mohammed Shami won big at the CEAT Cricket Awards on August 21, Wednesday.

Rohit Sharma won the International Cricketer of the Year award

The star of the night was Indian captain Rohit Sharma, who was crowned the Men’s International Cricketer of the Year. Rohit’s outstanding performances in all formats of the game made him a deserving recipient of this prestigious award. In 2023, Rohit amassed an impressive 1,800 international runs. His ODI batting was particularly noteworthy as he scored 1,255 runs at an impressive average of 52.59. Rohit’s contribution was crucial during the World Cup where he amassed 597 runs and secured the second highest run scorer in the tournament.

The Best ODI Batter of the Year award goes to Virat Kohli

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli’s exceptional consistency with the bat in ODIs was awarded the ODI Batter of the Year award. Kohli’s superb form in 2023 saw him score 1,377 runs, including six centuries and eight fifties. His most notable performance came in the 2023 ODI World Cup where he dominated the batting charts. Kohli finished as the tournament’s leading run scorer, amassing 765 runs in 11 matches at an astonishing average of 95.62. During the World Cup, Kohli achieved a historic milestone equal to Sachin Tendulkar’s record of centuries in ODI cricket. This further cemented his status as one of the greatest hitters in the history of the game.

Rahul Dravid received the Lifetime Achievement Award

Former India head coach Rahul Dravid was honored with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award.
