NASCAR has confirmed that Big Machine Racing and its driver Parker Kligerman have received penalties following the recent incident at Michigan International Speedway, according to NBC. Both the team and Kligerman were docked 20 points each after a violation involving unauthorized modifications to the car’s spoiler.

As part of the extensive punishment, the team forfeited an additional five playoff points, and crew chief Patrick Donahue received a financial penalty.

The change in question concerned section 14.4.10.A of the Xfinity series rule book, which strictly regulates car changes. The violation was identified during a routine post-race inspection process following Kligerman’s 11th-place finish at Michigan, a race in which he had originally earned 27 points.

Moving forward, Kligerman and his team’s focus will shift to the next challenge on the NASCAR Xfinity Series calendar. The series continues under the lights at the iconic Daytona International Speedway, scheduled to begin this Friday at 7:30 PM ET.
